Her soft hand held my finger
In my dreams she lay quietly beside me
Her lips uttered the word 'mother'
And then her sudden silence astonished me.
I ran after darkness
waiting to catch a glimpse of her glowing face
She faded in darkness forever
And I lost all sense of time and space.
Days and nights passed by
she remained deep in my heart
as a wound that deepened with time
I dragged myself along with life
Knowing that things could never be same again
